      A dinosaur discovery may change birds family tree.
      恐龙新物种可能改变鸟类的谱系
      Talk about ruffling feathers. A newly discovered dinosaur is making researchers question whether the world’s oldest bird is actually a bird!
      谈最近突生波澜的鸟类问题。一种新发现的恐龙让研究者们开始质疑世界上最古老的鸟类是否真的是鸟!
      Scientists recently identified, or named, xiaotingia zhengi. The dino (above) lived about 155 million years ago in what is now China.
      科学家们把最近发现的恐龙命名为郑氏晓廷龙。这种恐龙约1.55亿年前生活在现属于中国的地区。
      Xiaotingia is a new find, but it looks familiar to experts. That’s because it shares many traits with Archaeopteryx. That animal has long been known as the world’s oldest bird. It lived about 150 million years ago. Both creatures had long. arms and feathers , says researcher Lawrence M. Witmer.
      郑氏晓廷龙虽然是一项新的发现,但是科学家们对它并不陌生。那是因为它与始祖鸟有很相似的特征。始祖鸟一直被人们认为是世界上最古老的鸟,大约生活在1.5亿年前。这两种动物都有很长的前肢和羽毛,研究员劳伦斯.M .韦特默说。
      Scientists compared the pair with other birds and dinos. With Xiaotingia in the picture, Archaeopteryx fit better as a dinosaur than as a bird.
      科学家们把这两种动物与其他鸟类和恐龙进行了对比。参照郑氏晓廷龙的形态,始祖鸟看上去更像是恐龙而不是鸟。
      The finding is making scientists rethink their ideas about early birds. “that’s how science moves,” Witmer told us, “These new discoveries change our views.”
      这个新发现使科学家们对早期鸟类有了新的认识。“科学就是这样进步的。”韦特默对我们说,“这些发现改变课我们的观点。”
