Haruki Murakami’s works are though to be too common, popular and petty in literary circle and are believed not in the taste of Nobel Prize, which favors serious and pure literature works.

In fact, the annual Nobel Prize in Literature has already become an entertainment carnival rather than a prize in this noisy network Media era. French writer Modiano’s wining of Nobel Prize is a big thing in the French literature circle, but it’s not big a deal in other countries since it is just an award. Ironically, no matter how great he is, how famous he is in the literature circle, some literary figures and translator’s attitude toward him after his winning showed that they are too flattering. They aren’t worth our respect. Plus, we still need time to see whether the winner’s works are that good and classic. The value of a person shouldn’t be judged with only one award.
